Not many forces use the Ford. Most forces use the vauxhall astras. My local force use Skoda, Land Rover, BMW and Volvo.
References :
Fords are, as far as I know , the only make left to make the " police package " vehicle. It consists of beefier suspension , steering , braking, and a larger horse powered engine with heavy duty cooling and charging systems. Also, the transmissions were beefier.
References :
there was a time a few years ago were ford were the main suppliers to the police for their standard patrol cars, however some regional police forces have now moved on to other makers

for example the main car for the metropolitan police (London) is a vauxhall astra, backed up with BMW 5 series, Volvo estate cars, and Range Rovers, the only fords used in London are some limited numbers of vans.

other regional forces do continue to use fords however.

Ford is a popular make in the UK, I can't speak for Ford in the US, but the fords over here are usually built in the UK, they are reliable, well made and reasonably priced, and spare parts are not a problem. the most common type of ford used is the Ford Focus, again these are purely standard patrol cars, they are backed up with high powered BMW/Volvo pursuit cars,
