Ransom Eli Olds invented the assembly line in his car company. Henry Ford took it to a new level, with a the mile-long assembly line, producing cars at the rate of one per hour. Model T production ran for 19 years, and the price dropped every year. The model T was the first car that was affordable to the general public.

It was pretty much the first affordable car. It would be like living in a world where the only car company’s were bentley and rolls royce (you can see how that would be hard for many people to own a car). A ford would have been a revolution!

It was the first to have standardized assembly. All other cars previous to the Model T were built by hand, almost like works of art. Henry Ford introduced the assembly line and each and every car was the same, therefore parts could be interchanged, making repair easier and faster.
