Used cars - Buick Century, Chevy Malibu, Dodge Neon?

A local auction in Orange County, CA has a few cars which were primarily used by utility companies and municipalities.

Some choices are 1999 Buick Century, 2002 Chevy Malibu, and 2002 Dodge Neon. All are 4 door, automatic with AC.

The Century and Malibu have similar specs.

If you have experience, good or bad, with these cars, please advise.

My dad has a ‘99 Malibu. It is a good car. Seems to hold resale value. You may want to check with Consumer Reports to check out each vehicle’s reliablity records.

All of these cars are terrible. Get a BMW instead.

I have driven "fleet" type cars, and for that reason alone I say pass. The only reason to buy one is if you are a great home mechanic and want something to fix.
Even if they were not fleet operated cars, I would never recommend any of these models.
That is two strikes, and the third is that the driver of the car (for the utility) is normally given first chance at buying it. The next employees that get a chance are those that do the maintenance, or anyone who works for the company. So I would conclude that the person/s who drove it daily feels that it is not a good buy.

Chevy Malibu is best choice. You get room, power and fuel economy. It is a mix of the Century and Neon/
