is it true that chevy cars can only be repaired in their service centres as many mechanics dont know repair it?
Well most people don’t have a code reader of their own so they have to go somewhere to get the codes read on the car. And if they modify it they have to get it tuned at a shop. But everything else can be done by you in your garage with actually very few tools. Granted if you are doing serious modifications you’ll need to send stuff to a machine shop. For general maintenance you can do that on your own.
A mechanic is no smarter than you they just do these jobs all the time. Also lots of shops don’t want to work on stuff they don’t know very well like import automatic transmissions. I don’t think a shop would last very long if it didn’t work on Chevrolet cars.

No. Most cars have similar part so most any repair shop can do 98% of the work. But if a specialized tool is required for a specific problem you would need to take it to a service center.
Plus service centers are more likely to recognize other problems than a general repair shop.
