Can light to moderate scratches be "buffed" out of automotive glass (windshields) somehow?

Months ago, when I was new to car maintenance and ownership, the metal "rib" inside the passenger-side windshield wiper blade came out a little bit and scratched a semicircular pattern in my glass…before I realized that it was time to replace said wiper blade.

At Autozone or any other auto parts store you can pick up a windshield repair kit. It will include a special resin and an applicator. Shouldn’t be more than $15.

My Way Says:

check with an auto glass place…this should be no more than 40 bucks to fix.
